So I'm just exploring the genre(?) called Tech Funk. It appears to be a blend of all wonderful electronic dance genres blended together in a seamless gel of bass and beats. Just my style! Breaks, glitch, dubstep, techno, funk, house, all roled into one. I really need to start DJ'ing like yesterday. Some good resources to explore this wonderful sound are http://jungoroad.com and http://techfunkmanifesto.blogspot.com/

Hey there peeps, just a heads up to let you know that I am posting updates of a work in progress on my SoundCloud page. It is a banging acid techno track for Psonic Bionic entitled Rhythm Scape I. Come on by and have a listen and drop any inputs, comments, suggestions by just clicking on the blue bar at the bottom of the track. I'd really appreciate any feedback. You can hear the progress I am making on this track as I improve upon it.

I just finished up a mashup of U2's "Bad" and Filter's "Take A Picture". One day I was in the kitchen and the two songs just started playing in my head and they sounded perfect together. Lo and behold they were already in the same key when I listened to them. I did this all for fun. It is a tribute to these bands. The file is not for sale, and I am not making money from it. I will remove it at the copyright owner(s) request. You can find it at wrecklessmusic.net in the free downloads area.
Also just a reminder that you have 1 week left to get my whole album 'Over The Top' for free at the website simply for signing up. The offer ends along with the month of March.

It's amazing how you can have a VST you're not really impressed until you figure out the proper context to put it to good usage. DtBlkFX is such a plugin. You can find it for free at http://rekkerd.org/dtblkfx/ and there are Mac and PC versions as well as mono and stereo versions. I found it to be incredibly useful when I am applying it to individual drumsounds to help create a glitchy loop.
I hope this helps someone else find some inspiration

I've just finished mastering my brand new breaks track called 'Snowdaze' by Psonic Bionic. The mastering process can really be a tedious process, and it's very difficult for me to pick between several versions of the song that sound nearly identical. Hopefully it hasn't turned out too bright or too bassy. I haven't got a proper subwoofer (12" +) to monitor things on, so I just have to do some comparisons with similar material and monitor the spectographs. Anyways... the track is now up for you to hear at wrecklessmusic.net , oundcloud.com/wrecklessmusic , myspace.com/psonicbionic , and my facebook fanpage. It is for sale on my website as well, but if you're a DJ or producer, hit me up and I'll get you a copy for free.
